The Boat

Sea Leopard II is a purpose built 12 meter Blyth catamaran powered by twin Iveco 400hp engines giving a cruising speed of 12 knots, top speed 18 knots. She is licenced (class VI) to carry up to 60 passengers 15 miles from point of departure summer operation, and category 2 to carry up to 12 passengers up to 60 miles from a safe haven all year operation.

She is fitted with the latest Garmin electronics and the most up to date safety gear.

The Blyth is a well proven hull often used for exposed wind farm work which uses cutting edge design for enhanced stability.

On board facilities

Facilities include a heated toilet suitable for persons with limited mobility and a heated wheel house with seating for up to 10 passengers, a small galley, and a canopy over half the passenger deck. Hot and cold drinks with shortbread are available for a small charge.

The Skipper

Lindsay Johnston, originally from Perthshire, has lived and worked in Argyll for 36 years. He has 36 years sailing experience including 2 Atlantic crossings. He has also worked as a Countryside Ranger and has considerable knowledge of the area, its history and wildlife.

Tickets can also be purchased by card or cash on board, or at the Tourist Information Centres in Oban and Inveraray or at Ardfern Yacht Centre shop, Tarbert Chandlery.

Or turn up on the day on the chance of seats still being available.

Please allow plenty of time to travel, park, and make your way to the boat. Our roads can be slow, from Oban at least 1 hour, from Lochgilphead at least 45 mins. Free parking and toilets for customers at Ardfern Yacht Centre.

We regret we cannot wait for late arrivals, refunds will only be given if we are forced to cancel due to strong winds or any other unforeseeable circumstance.

Dogs

Excitable dogs can scare wildlife. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement.

Departure times may vary, please check when booking. Please be on board 15 minutes prior to departure.
